The working group was established to consolidate the results of the Hansa Organ Project. The working group consists of a core group (4-5 members) with a coordinator and a broader network of associated members who are interested in promoting organ music. The core group also includes members from the host cities of the next three Hanseatic Days.
Objective
To raise awareness of organs as an important part of European cultural heritage and to promote networking among organists.
Tasks
- To support the host city of the Hanseatic Day in organising a Hansa Organ Festival;
- To support initiatives related to the organ in the Hanseatic cities: concerts, music events, workshops, seminars, guided tours, etc.
The Hansa Organ Festival
The Hansa Organ Festival is an integral part of the International Hanseatic Day. The framework can either be broad or focus on a specific theme: e.g. a composer who lived or worked in the host city; music composed for a special occasion; a programme that covers a geographical area including several Hanseatic cities; or a tribute to famous composers from historical times who are connected in one way or another with the Hanseatic cities.
