Seehausen

Our small green town of Seehausen is also called the "town of lime trees" - it is the northernmost town in the Altmark and also in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. It lies on the Aland, a tributary of the Elbe and on the "Romanesque Road". Half-timbered houses characterise its image, houses that have been lovingly reconstructed in recent years.

The first documented mention of Seehausen as a member of the Hanseatic League dates back to 1358 in a Rostock directory of Hanseatic towns in the Mark Brandenburg.
