The route runs from Beverley via Hull, Lincoln, Boston, Kings Lynn, Walsingham, Great Yarmouth and Ipswich to the ferry port of Harwich. It is the result of cooperation between the English Hanseatic cities. The towns invite travelers on a captivating journey through time in the footsteps of merchants, traders and diplomats who once headed for the bustling ports and markets of the Hanseatic towns along the English coast. The route was designed primarily as a bicycle route, but it can also be traveled by train, motorcycle or car. It was officially inaugurated on Sunday by more than 30 cyclists who rode from Hull to Beverley, where they were welcomed by city representatives led by Mayor Tom Astell.
