Meppen

The district town of Meppen in the Emsland region, located near the Dutch border, can look back on more than 1200 years of history. Various buildings, such as the historic town hall with its basement from 1408, the gymnasial church or the Arenbergische Rentei are reminiscent of this. The former city wall of the defense system around the town center, planted with oaks, is unique - unique in northwest Germany. As a listed building, it stands for its long time as a fortress city.
