Havelberg, formerly the seat of a bishop and since 1 June 2008 officially a Hanseatic town again, today characterised above all by the cathedral as an architectural monument, spiritual and cultural centre, as well as by the range of water tourism on offer with a marina, shipyard, camping island, several youth facilities, passenger ship, adventure pool and boat hire of almost all kinds, right up to houseboat holidays, lies at the confluence of the Havel and Elbe rivers, halfway between Hamburg and Berlin.
