‘Hat he denn ok Butter bi de Fische?’ was a well-known question during the Hanseatic League era and meant ‘Does he have money?’. This is one of many questions that will be answered during the exciting culinary city tour ‘Butter bei die Fische’ on Saturday, 20 September at 11 a.m.
Because if you didn't have butter to go with your fish, you were missing an essential part of the meal. The Hanseatic era had a lot to offer – this culinary journey into the past takes you into a world of culinary delights and delicacies and delights with a varied menu of incredible stories, little anecdotes and a selection of city-specific specialities. During a two-hour guided tour through the old town streets of Stade, participants will learn interesting facts about food and drink from the Hanseatic era, as well as about the eating habits and rituals of the time.
