The Historical Hanseatic Festival (Historisches Hansefest) has been celebrated in Wesel for over 25 years. The Hanseatic Mile is an integral part of the festival. Every year, various Hanseatic cities from Germany and abroad present their tourist attractions and regional products from Brückstraße to Kreuz-/Korbmacherstraße.
The farmers' and medieval market is a hive of activity. Traders from Germany and abroad offer their wares between Hohe Straße and Berliner Tor.
An atmospheric highlight of the Hanseatic Festival is the historical procession with jugglers, musicians and torch bearers from Berliner Tor to Großer Markt.
