Every year in November and December, the Dorsten Winter Magic (Dorstener Winterzauber) brings a mixture of live music, DJ performances, the popular ‘Winteralm’ and the traditional Eisstockschießen (similar to curling) in the old town centre. DJ Moguai or DJ Salvatore Mancuso, local bands such as ‘The Florians’ and ‘Slo Gin’ are just some of the names of artists who have performed here in recent years.
The Dorsten ‘Eisstock Masters’ are an absolute crowd-puller. In total, over 2000 participants compete against each other in more than 300 teams, with several games taking place every evening. The ice rink can also be used by school classes and clubs in the mornings and it is possible to hire the rink exclusively from 10 am to 2 pm.
