It's done: the Kamper Kogge is back in its home port. The crew can look back on an exciting journey that took them through the Ijsselmeer, the North Sea, the Kiel Canal and the Baltic Sea to the Swedish island of Gotland. In the harbour of Visby, the ship was one of the highlights of the 45th International Hanseatic Day. The ship had brought goods to the Hanseatic Day in traditional wooden crates for the Dutch and Rhenish Hanseatic cities, just like in the old days. The skipper and crew then had to contend with poor wind conditions and engine damage, particularly on the way back, which delayed their arrival in Kampen. The ‘Black Lady’ is now back at her mooring at the Koggewerft shipyard near Kampen's old town centre. The shipyard site can be visited free of charge. Guided tours are also available on request.
