When you drive into the city over the IJssel Bridge, you have the feeling of being transported back in time. There are few towns in our country that are as well preserved as this old Hanseatic town.
Doesburg is surrounded by water and lies on the banks of the IJssel. Besides the economic dynamism, not least due to tourism, the city has unique qualities as a cultural city: traditional crafts such as silversmithing and mustard production, shops that invite you to stroll around, concerts, galleries, museums and cosy restaurants.
The medieval street pattern has been preserved. The town has 150 protected monuments. They bear witness to Doesburg's rich history and we are proud of that in Doesburg.
