Medebach

Welcome to the old Hanseatic town Medebach, located in the heart oft he Sauerland and surrounded by grassy hills, mystic forests and small rivers. Officially recognised in 1144, Medebach has a 875 year old history to look back on. In the year of 1165 Medebach was given its town rights stating their Hanseatic work. As one of the oldest towns of the region Westfalia, Medebach was especially important during the times of the early merchant activities. However, on special occasions such as the town’s 875th birthday, the inhabitants like to look back on the history of their home town and preferably do so with visitors from all over.
