Lippstadt

Founded much earlier, Bernhard II, noble lord of Lippe, was granted city rights for his town tor Lippe by Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa in 1185. Today, Lippstadt, honoured as one of the oldest founding towns in Westphalia, lies in the midst of a well-tended park landscape and presents itself as a charming shopping and excursion destination due to its extensive river courses in the city area.
