To celebrate International Hanseatic day Humber Field Archaeology (HFA) will be providing a guided tour around the old town of Hull to tell the story of the city’s vibrant medieval trade with northern Europe and its links to the Hanseatic League.
Peter Connelly, HFA Archaeology Manager, will be leading the tour and will be taking in some of the key medieval sites within the old town to illustrate the important role that Hull played in the commerce of medieval northern Europe.
Starting at the corner of High Street and Scale Lane Staith (opposite The Lion & Key) and finishing at Hull & East Riding Museum. Distance covered will be approx. 1 mile. The guided tour covers relatively flat terrain and is suitable for all accessibility needs.
