At the end of November, it's that time of year again: the Herford Christmas market opens, transforming the city centre into a glittering winter wonderland. Warm lights, lovingly decorated stalls and the scent of mulled wine and freshly roasted almonds invite guests from across the region to linger.
This year, visitors can once again look forward to some special highlights: St. Nicholas will make his traditional arrival via the Werre river, farmers will light up the city with their festive illuminated parade, and the nostalgic Ferris wheel will offer a fantastic view over Herford. The curling rink on Münsterkirchplatz will attract visitors, while the Christmas post office will be open on Gänsemarkt. Every Friday in December, a varied children's programme awaits younger guests, complemented by musical highlights on Thursdays and Saturdays.
